Had a great session at Hoek Van Holland this afternoon .
3 of us out there .
I was loaned a TT while here , a surfboard would have topped the day though ! Regardless what a treat .
7M sesh  and when we came in our kites  were pushed flat by the wind .
I had a long walk from the parking lot to the beach which wasn't a worry going to the beach but going back to the car was harder . My legs were tired but the smile on my face is still here ! Those waves are a blast .

Zelf ben ik ook niet zo tevreden over Kitesurfschool.nl, dus deze school ga ik niet aan iemand anders aanraden. Ik vond de instructeurs heel aardig en behulpzaam, maar ik vind achteraf gezien dat ik veel te weinig geleerd heb in de 3-daagse cursus (en dan bedoel ik vooral safety gerelateerde dingen). Tevens wordt er regelmatig les gegeven met veel te weinig wind, waar je dus niks aan hebt. Maar als beginner weet je dat allemaal niet dus daar ben ik later allemaal achter gekomen.

Ik heb zelf nog heel veel geleerd van de safety clinic van de NKV. Dat was echt een heel goede actie!

Maar het is dan ook op je eigen de research te doen . Eerst kijken hoe het allemaal gaat met les bij die school . Mens weet wel toch en beetje ervan voor dat je op strand staat om les te neemen .
Maak niets uit , ze moeten eerst alle safety devices laaten zien , hoe ze werken en dat je ervaring mee heb om te gebruiken zonder er te lang over te denken . Als je tevreeden ben met je zelf om alles weer in order te maaken na de release van de kite dan doe je het wel .
I hope this makes sense as my Dutch is minimal . You must be taught the safetys and self rescue and be able to do them . IKO lessons ensure these are taught . It's a sandard . And practice to get the muscle memory .
Light wind can be good for beginners , it's not so intimidating , as long as there is enough for the kite to fly properly of course .
In three days of lessons you should know your safety , be able to body drag upwind  , be able to get up on a board and ride a short distance and come back , may even be starting to jump a little .
Of course this is for a person who has some sporting background and the drive to learn kiting .
Kiting is expensive . I learned about ten years ago and had a few not so good lessons too it adds up $$$.
Talk to others , watch the schools instructors then decide . I know thats hard to do some times but ....
Have fun with your next experience , I hope it's much better .

I'll be staying in Vlaardingen . I will most likely have wheels somehow so I can get around .
Ok thats kinda what I though it would be too , Rentals are $$$$$ .
Would a  9 and an 11.5 be good choices for this time of year ? I'm 85 kg .

I live in Alberta  Canada . My name is Jacobus Zwanenburg . I was born in Vlaaardingen .
I am coming to Visit family in Sept  5 -22 . I must Kite while there though 
I am IKO level 1 instructor and have kited 9 years . I have wave experience and love it . I kite water and snow . surfboard or TT, Skim . It's all great !
I would like to know if there is a place that will rent me gear ? Other options to avoid bringing my own from Canada ?
Whats the best place to hook up with other kiters , Ijmuiden , Hoek Van Holland , Zeeland  ..... ?
