Hoi Pollepel,
Een soortgelijke vraag heb ik per email al eens gesteld aan Rainer (de shaper van de spleene boards) Heb ff 't mailtje opgezocht voor je, hier zijn reply:
the Doors and the Session are so wide that you have a lot of lift. The toeside rail is most of the time not touched by water, so if you have a finposition like our RIP´s that fin wouldn´t do it´s job and you definitely need 2 fins to have enough grip. The 2004 doors had just one centerfin. This was good for switching, bit there was less grip. We tested a lot and now we have a good balance of grip and loose boardfeeling. I know it´s different from all other boards on the market, but believe me it was a lot of work to find perfect fin-position, -size and -shape. If you ride toeside the center fin has enough grip. In general it´s easier to edge the board more carefully if you ride toeside. You have more feeling on your toes than on the heels. Ciao Rainer
