Repower
Resulting from the development of foil kites with variable angle of attack, the “Repower system” provides new piloting sensations for bladder kites. As they wanted to transfer the piloting smoothness of foil kites to the SKORPIO, the ADVANCE KITES development team designed the “Repower system”. This enabled them to maintain the specific character of all ADVANCE kites.

In a turn, the SKORPIO benefits from steady power with a minimum of variation, unlike a normal inflatable kite, which slows down and loses power. The “Repower system” allows a real power boost. When you sheet in, the SKORPIO gives you further power, instead of stalling. If you depower, the kite looses power naturally.

You will be able to appreciate the benefits of the “Repower system”, for example when you are in an air pocket, as you will only need to sheet in not to loose power. These characteristics make piloting a pleasure and especially comfortable. It is very satisfying to become one with the kite, controlling it with the bar and smoothly managing the power - pure piloting pleasure!

In order to get the best out of the “Repower system” when the wind is at the low end of the SKORPIO’s range, we advise you to get out on the water, well clear of the beach, to take speed and then increase and decrease the kite trim (angle of incidence to the wind).

Valve pressure:

After careful study, the ideal pressure of each bladder of the SKORPIO has been determined and is indicated on the kite. A pump equipped with a pressure gauge will enable you to obtain a precise and effective inflation.

3D smooth profiles:

All T2, T3, T4, T5 have been designed with a “3D smooth profile”: the struts are shaped with 4 fabric panels, which enables them to benefit from a section that is close to a perfect circle. The absence of segments along the struts makes it possible to respect the profile chosen as well as possible, without the disturbances created by additional seams.

Strut pocket:

- Each T2, T3, T4, T5 is equipped with a “strut pocket” on the trailing edge. The “strut pocket” was designed to hold the bladder in place and to protect it. The bladder is thus protected by 11 cm more material than the length of the strut.- In order to close the “strut pocket” correctly, it should be folded towards the strut, whilst taking care to correctly position the 2 bands of Velcro one on top of the other.

2 positions: loops or knots:
The SKORPIO is delivered with front line connectors that have a loop, and the pigtails are equipped with a knot. This in order to avoid any risk of confusion at the time of the connection. The SKORPIO lines are however adjustable, and can be used with both a knot or a loop. It is up to you to choose the system of connection, which suits you.

Fast - slow turn tuning:
- If you connect your brake lines on “fast turn tuning”, you will be able to benefit from the maximum capabilities of the SKORPIO.- If you find the SKORPIO too reactive, connect to it on the “slow turn tuning” position.

Smaller - bigger wind range:
- If you connect your front lines on “bigger wind range”, you will benefit from the optimal capabilities of the SKORPIO.

- When connected on the “smaller wind range” position, the SKORPIO will have a smaller use range, because of the reduced angle of attack. The kite will be less responsive. Recommended for use under steady wind conditions. This adjustment also makes it possible to remain in the air longer during no-hand jumps (without sheeting in via the bar).

Handle:
The T1 is equipped with a double use strap:- It enables you to attach the strap of the pump to it, in order to inflate the SKORPIO without holding it.- You will benefit from an easy and safe handhold to carry your SKORPIO up-wind, inner-surface facing up.

Life saver:
If you need to return to the beach while sitting in the kite, the “life saver” handles sewn on the under-surface of the wing tips will be convenient for steering the SKORPIO as well as possible.

Inflatable Wingtips:
Inflatable wingtips help the edge of the kite float on the water, aiding in relaunch. Inflatable wingtips also pack the kite lighter an smaller.
