Hi all kite lovers!

Over the past few months we have been in South Africa and had a few tours to some wonderful kite spots all over the country. We have even made it up to Namibia and put the new kites through some tough trials in serious wind and some high-speed runs.

I’ve had the 2009 kites for a while now and have been testing them in all kinds of conditions and I am totally hooked. When we have been wave riding my new Light XC 8 has been my best friend and with both 20 and 25 metre lines works beautifully. Just yesterday I had an amazing day on the water in Cape Town with light wind, around 7 m/s and 3.5 metre waves. The Light 8 delivered power exactly when and where I wanted it and made it one of my best wave-riding days I have ever had. I rode for nearly two hours unhooked before my body decided it had had enough. The waves rolled slowly in and I was getting at least five to six turns on every wave, sick.

A while back we were kiting by the Witsand Reede river and riding a flat-water lagoon. We had some awesome riders testing the new Ozone kites and they were all totally stoked on how they performed for freestyle riding, great response through the bar and calm and controlled in the air. We rode with all the kites I had with me (Edge RX 11, Sport +9 and 7 and Light XC 8) all of them were super easy to water launch in light wind and handled the gusts with ease.

I’ve never received so many comments on how good looking my latest kites are it makes them even more fun to own. I am totally convinced that you all are going to have an amazing 2009 and that the new kites will help a lot of you have even more unforgettable days on the water.

Over and out! Marten Björnsson
