Sheryl’s Stoked>>
04:45 @ 17-08-09, 253 keer bekekenJust in from one of the Turbulence Angels, Sheryl Confue, who recently joined the Ozone UK force and has been working hard and training in Zanzibar for the upcoming BKSA tour. Great to have you on board Sheryl, good luck from the Ozone team and we are really happy that you are enjoying the kites.
Hi, This is me ;-) and I am now the very proud owner of three shiny new ozone kites.
I have the instinct light 6m (red), and the Instinct Sport 9m (orange) and 11m (white). Actually I’ve had them about a month, but because of work I’ve only just unwrapped them. I’m on Zanzibar, East Africa, at Airborne Kitesurf Centre. I’m here for two weeks trying to learn some new tricks for the BKSA competitions.
I’ve had an awesome first few days. Started out with the nine on the first day. Initially I mis-judged the strength of the warm African wind so was underpowered, but really surprised at how smoothly the kite flew even right at the edge of the wind range. There wasn’t a lot of time left with the day so had a play at unhooking.. again really simple and effective systems make this a doddle, and the kite is super nice to ride unhooked… think I’ll have to give that a go in the waves before I depart. After I switched to the 11m (a much more realistic choice), we set off on a 22km downwind venture out at the reef in monster clean crystal clear waves. The 11 is beautiful, it turns really quickly for a big kite and flies so smoothly through the sky, doing everything you ask it to and more.  We were riding as the sun set and landed just as darkness engulfed the island, I forget how quickly is goes from light to dark at the equator. What an absolutely amazing first venture for me and my new ozone kites.
I’ll keep the news coming as often as I can… I’m hoping and praying for the wind to stay so I can absolutely put my new toys through their paces.
Many many thanks to Ozone… one session and already I’m over the moon ;-)
