Next to Mauritius there is another more smaller and wilder island called Rodrigues Island with one of the worlds biggest lagoons.

For two weeks we could explore this giantic coral reef, making downwind excursions for more than 20 km  and trying our new Ozone Edge Rx’s in the tubing waves. The whole family was amazed about their ease and handiness  and also their long hangtime so we could jump easly over the waves. On gusty lightwind days the Edge Rx and its enormous depower is a very secure kite even for our children.

During these two weeks we’ve had all kinds of weather conditions but were able to navigate  daily even if the two first days were somekind of wet. In the end the wind was improving and fantastic for working out long freestyle sessions on a very flat zone which they here call “the skate-park”.

We  couldn’t explore all of the various  cruising possibilities of this kitesurfing paradise .
If ever you should come to Rodrigues Island, take along your whole quiver because you surely will use everything!!!

Our next travel will be to the east coast of Mauritius which is not as well known to kitesurfers as much as the south...
