Adam Koch wins innaugural Seattle Kiteboard Race
00:15 @ 26-10-09, 493 keer bekekenThe first of many Washington State Kiteboard Course Races took place on October 17th. Supported by the Seattle Yacht Club and Urban Surf, and led by Race Director Andy Koch, the race course was proffessionally run and enjoyed by all the competitors. After a rainy and windless morning, skies cleared and the wind continued to build throughout the afternoon. With enough breeze to kick off the races, riders took out larger kites not knowing what to expect. Adam Koch chose his 13 meter Edge, and was forced to ride it during all four races, as once they started they ran every race back to back. Despite taking several first places and a second, for an overall first place finish, Adam commented that he could have done even better on his 11m Edge instead of being lit up the entire time on the 13 metre. What was amazing tho was the range and consistent power the Edge delivered during a wide variety of conditions.
Everyone at Ozone is stoked to hear that Kiteboard Racing is growing enthusiastically and that the 2009 Edge is still taking top placement late in the year... Even in head to head competition against 2010 kites of other leading brands.

RECAP
35 local kiteboarding enthusiasts joined in on the first of many races in Seattle this past weekend. Between the rain squalls, the wind picked up on Saturday and provided 20-30 mph winds for about 3 hours - just enough time to get the race off and solid results posted. "We expected about 10-15 guys to sign up, so we are very pleased to see so many people excited about racing up here (in Seattle)" commented Race Director, Andrew Koch.
Four races were run in each class; race board, surfboard & twin tip. The Seattle Yacht Club provided all support boats and was instrumental in setting up the race course. Prizes were provided by Urban Surf, a local surf and kiteboarding shop.
The next race is planned for November - exact dates TBC.
