Ozone Tops Podium at World Championships
02:30 @ 29-04-10, 143 keer bekekenWe have new World Champions… Here’s to Adam And Kari, flying Ozone to the top of the podium!
Congratulations to all of the athletes who valiantly flew Ozone Kites at this year’s Kiteboard Course Racing World Championships. The conditions were difficult and the racing standard was at an all time high with many of the worlds most accomplished Kiteboarders on the water. Just to cross the starting line with such a fleet takes a massive amount of skill and courage, which puts all the riders into a world class category of their own.
Out of the 40 racers that took to the start line during the week long series, 9 were flying the new Ozone 2010 Edge Race Kite and representing the Ozone tribe from Norway, Canada, Oregon, Texas, California and Florida. Adam Koch and Kari Schibevaag flew their Edges at the front of the pack and maintained strong leads, each holding the majority of 1st place finishes for their divisions. With 10 races held and 2 throw outs for low scores, Adam finished with 11 points and Kari with 13, making them the new Course Race World Champions.
The Race Results and Feedback from the team during the World Championships is heavy proof that the new generation of 4 line Edge Kites are the highest performing wings Ozone has ever created. The 2010 Edge provides more low end power than previous models, allowing it to be powered comparatively with larger sized kites, yet it maintains comfortable control into higher winds when others were sizing down. The Edge has already proven itself in previous seasons with impressive race results from many of the Ozone Team that has competed in North American Course Races. Building on a solid reputation and incorporating the teams feedback, the new Edge is a race winning kite in a class of its own.
