Troy Henkels >> Greetings from Wales, Alaska

Finally, the wind has started to blow in Wales. And actually there is enough wind to make a crossing, but, the seas are still too rough for our local support boat to venture out onto the Strait.

But, as everyone knows, if there is wind, there will be kites in the air. Geza and I wasted no time getting on the water for several great sessions over the past few days. I ventured out about 5 miles onto the Strait, without a support boat, to see how rough the water really was. Well, not so bad with a kite, but it would certainly be an entirely different story for a boat!

In the meantime, when we are not kiting, we are enjoying the local culture and surrounding area. Wales, Alaska is quite a place, to say the least.

With any luck the seas will calm a bit and the wind will keep blowing so we can make it across to Russia.
