Jonas Steffen >> Storm Chase

End of August I decided to go to St Peter Ording for some days together with my girlfriend. The forecast looked amazing for the next days so I added the new 20m lines to my control bar and hoped that this forecast will come true!!! On August the 23rd the local forecast promised that the wind will be picking up to over 40knots in the late afternoon and evening so I went to the beach. Just arrived at the beach I saw drifts of water over the waves and the tiny little windsurf sails between the waves… Yea, its now or never!?

I was starting my C4 7m on short lines and took my Styx 132. The 7m had so much power that I was pulled over the beach, so some friends helped with the launch at the beach. I was out for like 20min and 3 personal hangtime records ;-) that was crazy!

The next day we had winds about 35knots the whole day. The stormy onshore wind gave us perfect flat water conditions on the beach because the tide was higher than normal that day. Together with Christian Brill we both took our 7m C4 with 20m lines together with the Underground Styx 132.

In the beginning of this session I was a bit hesitant with my 7m but then I saw Christian going for a real megaloop in that 40cm of water. WOW...ok, it´s possible! Lets go for it! That day was so much fun on the water, have a look at the pics we took.
