10:45 @ 01-12-10, 133 keer bekekenI am now on the east cost in Australia and I am trying to find some good conditions before the PKRA is starts on the 5th of December. It’s the last event for the year and I really want to end my year with a good result before I move over to the snow.
I have been here 2 weeks already and it has not been the best conditions for wave riding yet. I found some really nice places for freestyle in the rivers, flat water and really nice wind, but I am still looking for waves. I met Linn (my friend from Norway) on the beach up north and we had an amazing session on the water. It was super fun to finally ride with her again and I am happy to see her on a Ozone kite. She is here working for Mike and also doing some schooling. I hope you are coming down for the PKRA Linn :)
Australia is an expensive country or let me say, the Gold Coast is an expensive place to be. The people with money are the ones who come here so I don’t know how I ended up here. There are also a lot of rules here…I put my wetsuit out to dry on the balcony after a kite session, then after 10 mins the guard came and said "Madam can you take your wetsuit inside." Everything for the beauty J
They are also driving on the “wrong side†of the road here and its not easy I have to say. I got stopped by the police once and he thought I was driving drunk J hihi Was I that bad!!
Well Australia is nice I have to admit. They have the most amazing places for kite, surf, wakeboard, SUP, yes everything. Also they are really friendly and helpful, go to the beach and you have a lot of friends, or ask for something and you will get help for sure. I love this, you don’t need to feel alone here :) I was really lucky to meet Moti (who sells Ozone here on the Gold Coast) on the beach and he showed me some amazing places for kitesurfing. Thanks to him I got to see some more spots than only Narrowneck :)
I am now just hoping for some good wind and waves during the last days before the PKRA starts.
Here are some pictures from my time in Australia.
