Nathan & Shannon Ducker >> Freesurfing remote locations in Australia
03:00 @ 14-01-11, 138 keer bekekenWhy fly a few hours in comfort when you can spend four weeks driving 8000km through the desert with a two year old and a five year old? Because you get to go kitesurfing in epic locations!!!
We decided that Christmas this year would become an epic adventure across to the east coast of Australia to our family gathering in the Blue Mountains. When Shan returned from the PKRA World Champs (earning best result for Australian female in freestyle), we packed the kids in the car and loaded our C4s and Catalysts, kiteboards, surfboards and Tonka trucks. We set out for a 4000km drive from our home in Perth, Western Australia. Our ulterior motive was to explore new kitesurfing locations across the southern states.
Kiting highlights of the trip were mostly in South and Western Australia where the wind and waves created ideal conditions on pristine beaches. South Australia had the friendliest people where Western Australia had the most spectacular scenery, unfortunately the best places are also known for their large numbers of Great White Sharks!
We spent four weeks on the road and managed to get some pics to share. Best wishes to all for a fun season!
