Our favorite thing about the Ion was it's ability to absorb gusts. The first day we rode, the winds were 15-25 knots (a 10kt gust factor!). Once behind an Ion, we felt like it was a steady 20kt day. We really liked Flexifoil went with a large depower strap instead of a sheet cleat, which allowed us to adjust easily while riding. Out of all the flat style ktie's we've tried, the Ion definitely has a larger sweet spot.


C-Shapes have better low end.
One thing we've consistently noticed is that flat style kites perform much better in heavier than lighter winds

makkelijk 20 knoop met een 15, moet ik me zorgen maken om de lowend ervan (alsook de gap met een 9??? aangezien deze dan ook geen zo'n goeie lowend zou hebben)

Hier wat info van mijn Flexifoil dealer over de Ion's... Tot zover allemaal top wat ze erover zeggen...

good to hear that you're still happy with your kites. I kept the 11m Rasta
Strike2 for myself and I also like it a lot. So far I did not get a single
complaint about the Flexifoil kites that I sold last year and there was not
even one broken bladder or anything reported to me.

Unfortunately I've not had my hands on the ION yet and I've heard today that
the availability might be delayed to the end of May. There is not too much
information out yet, I only know a little bit about it as I've translated
the manuel into German. The European Distributor had a chance to test the 9m
ION and he was really impressed by it's handling, hangtime and
depowerability. Aaron Hadlow commented on the Ion that he liked it a lot and
he could and maybe will even use it for Freestyle Contests.
 
So it wont be a kite that will only be good for wave riding but rather for
all kind of styles. It will be available in 7, 9, 12 and 15 meters. Prices
(kite only) will be as follows:
 
7m EUR 785,--
9m EUR 860,--
12m EUR 970,--
15m EUR 1120,--
 
Here I have a few Ion related links for you. Most of them seem to be written
by independent riders who arent linked to Flexifoil and they all seem to
like it a lot so far. I cant wait to get it myself as it seems to be superb
in gusty conditions which we always have in my area. It will work with the
new Flexifoil Axis Bar. It's only 4 lines and it really is a nice and clean
piece of carbon. In 5 line mode it has a swivel now, so you can do rotations
without getting the lines tangled and the new safety release is in my honest
opinion by far the best system that is out now.

Waar komt Flexifoil vandaan?? Engeland, Amerika.

Er zit nml een behoorlijk verschil in prijs tussen duitsland en amerika, gem. zo'n 150 euro in het nadeel van duitsland. Ik heb nog geen nederlandse prijzen kunnen vinden.

Ik heb even om mij heel geïnformeerd en begrijp dat de kites in Nederland onder andere verkocht gaan worden door:

De prijzen die hier boven vermeld staan zijn de correcte prijzen.
Daar komt nog een bar van 300 euries bij
De bar is in de maat 48 of 54 cm.
Zit niet veel verschil tussen dus 1 maat bar zou voldoende kunnen zijn voor bv 15m2 en 9m2(dit volgens de importeur)

Ik vaar sinds 2 jaar met Flexifoil en ben erg tevreden met deze vliegers.
Heb afgelopen weekend mijn 2 nieuwe Ion's ontvangen.
Aankomend weekend op 24 juni is er een Flexifoil testdag bij Hefty surfing op de Brouwersdam. Zie bij evenementen.

Dit is in samenwerking met Mellow en Jonkerfunsports uit Renesse!

Je kunt volgend weekend zowel de Ion als de nieuwe Fushion's proberen en de kiteboards ook. De Flexiteamriders zullen er ook bij zijn.

Flexifoil teamriders? Sander alleen? Of Bjrorn ook? zal proberen er te zijn... flexifoil is top, jammer dat zo weinig mensen dit top merk varen! maar het strand bij natural high? dan ga ik er proberen te zijn en even los gaan met de fusion!
