The biggest town is Kralendijk, which is about 10 km of the kite spot and has around 15.000 inhabitants. It has some supermarkets, restaurants and bars comparable to any small town.
Bonaire has over 300 days of usable wind with steady northeast trades averaging 18 knots, though the strength can get up to 30 knots in May and June. You can get some good conditions in October and November too, but is can also frequently dip to around 10 knots which is when you break out the foil. Water temps remain around 26-28 ?C so you won’t need a wetsuit as the air temps are also really warm ranging from 28-32 ?C.
Please expect the following expenses
Living: You will need to arrange your own room or apartment in Kralendijk. Rent is typically starting around $500,- per month for a studio or room and up till $1000,- per month for a single bedroom apartment. For the first week of your staying KB provides a room if necessary.
Food: the supermarkets provide all products, although some products sometimes are temporarily unavailable as island life suggests. Pricewise is above average due to import of almost all products.
