What’s the plan?
To cross the Atlantic Ocean by kite. This will be done in a team of 6 - passing the baton. Everyone will surf for 4 hours a day, while the others follow on a yacht. The team will take the Southern Route, from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean. On this route favorable gulf streams and trade winds will turn the event into the Worlds’ Longest Downwinder.
The departure date is the 21st of December - the day on which the Maya’s say a New World will start. The team plans to arrive 11 days later for the New Years’ Party of a lifetime in the Caribbean..
The project will be captured in a documentary. This documentary will focus not only on the crossing from A to B, it will focus on ‘the Journey’ as a whole. Meaning: how is the project setup from the start until the finish in the Caribbean?
An organization is set up to structure the project. Details can be found in the Project Charter.
To setup this organization means talking to a great variety of people ranging from film directors and producers, marketeers and potential sponsors, event organizers, journalists and yacht owners to other interested parties…
Inspiration comes from all around
