Hello,

I'm planing a trip to Holland in spring summer.

Which are the best spots?

I love constant wind and flat water or as big waves as possible. As I know there are no wave spots in Holland but lot of flat water. Is Oostvoorne Good?

Thanks for all sugestions

Best

Wind is hit or miss, u have to be lucky. Since the country is small it's easy to go to several spots. IJmuiden/Wijk aan zee have good waves if it's 25+kn, especially with NW on Ijmuiden. Flatwater mostly inland on spots such as Mirns, Workum, Shellinkhout. Oostvoorne also has flatwater but it's a long walk from the parking spot. Don't know to much about zeeland but others might help u.

In summertime you have to be lucky ........ sometimes enough wind and sometime  ...... bullshit ..... Angry

but the windchances are better compare to manny spots in the south of Europe.... ThumpsUp

dont forget a wetsuit .... Shocked

The whole westcoast is ok  ..... but very crowdy  ...... ThumpDown

Zeeland has some very large beaches (Vrouwenpolder, Brouwersdam, Neeltje Jans) and its possible to kite with various winddirections .... YeSS

the sea mussels are delicious with french friets and a big beer .... Joepie

You can find big waves in Ouddorp in Zeeland if there's enough wind. Oostvoorne is very good for flat water and Brouwesdam too (atleast at lowtide).
But just that you know. It can get quite crowdy on our kitebeaches. Lot of kiters and students too.

Like the others already said, you have to be lucky in the summer. Sometimes we have a lot of wind for 2 weeks in a row, sometimes we don't have wind for almost a month, atleast according to the forecasts.
You might get a little thermic wind.

Why Holland by the way? I'm going on a trip to Portugal this summer because the wind is more stable there.

If you want to have a more windy place, you'll need to go to the islands. Also, in summertime there are evenings with good thermal winds on the IJsselmeer (Lake), also North part of Holland.
If temperature are above, say 22degrees and it has not been windy that day, most of the time we'll get NE-winds that will start at around 17.15h with 14knots and will gradually pick up to around 22knots at around 21.00h.

Summertime isn't the best time to practice sports that involve wind in Holland, but it's never windless for more than 1,5 week or so.

NE ijburg in June, we had it for the past 2 years and it's the best. Long evenings, light till 22.30 and wind building up to 25knots. IJsselmeer is great for thermals in early summer with NE wind.

Just bring a 10m and a 7m kite... and you're covered for most winds... under 18kts isn't fun anyway... oh yeah bring a wetsuit! 4,3mm will do... not thicker. Did I forget to mention that by then the best spot in europe will open... @slufter
