hydrofoil beginner spots in the south part?

hi

are there any good spots at the south coast to learn hydrofoil?

We normally do holiday close to Zoutelande.

It's not so easy to find any information in english, where it might be good...

Brouwersdamm has probably quiet fast waves and ocean current, if the wind picks up.

Are Grevelingen or Oosterschelde an option?

Brouwersdam with low tide is the best location if you want flat water without current, you only need to learn where the shallows are. With low tide It is even flat with 20kn-25kn.
High tide gets more chop, but still almost no current and less waves as the real coast. Although the chop on top of the shallow area can get really spikey.

Rockanje is fairly south and although choppy, does not have any real wave penetration, so its a good spot to learn. There are a lot of other foilers there as well.

Indeed Rockanje is a good place to learn how to hydrofoil.
It has been my first try location too!

You can filter if the wind direction is safe.
I personally would advice indeed Brouwersdam (the best) and Rockanje (limited by the possible wind directions, very choppy but no surf)

Only allowed in the shallow area, so not much room to foil.

and vrouwenpolder?

is there the depth of the water a problem?

Vrouwenpolder; as long as you stay in front of the sandbank, the water is deep enough for foiling.

Roompot X-beach; in my opinion enough room to learn foiling. Water depth is more then sufficient for foiling.


You can also try spots as Borselle (Kaloot) and Neeltje Jans. Quit often, i spot foil kiters on these spots!
