Soms heeft een petitie zin:
I have started a petition against the new AIR FRANCE / KLM baggage policies here:
https://www.ipetitions.com/petition/notonewairfrancebaggagerule/If you can spread the word and help us make a change, it would be great!!!!
"Since March 28th 2010, Air France / KLM have changed their baggage policies. Now, if you want to check-in a bag which is more than 158cm (total of the 3 dimensions: height+length+width), you will have to pay 200€ from Europe or $200 from US for a one way flight.
In short, this means that if you want to transport any type of board bag (surf, windsurf, kitesurf), you will have to pay 400€ or $400 USD total per checked bag for your round trip in addition to your ticket.
This is extortion, pure and simple and not affordable for the vast majority of kiteboarders, surfers or windsurfers, passionate people, who want to just travel safely, bring along their gear to practice their beloved sport, much like a golfer will do."

We had the pleasure this morning to find in our mailbox a very cool letter from the Air France / KLM Management, and that's a victory!!!! Here comes the letter!!!
Sir,
I have read your letter (i.e our petition) concerning the rules for transporting sports equipment and we thank you for it.
It is well known that large size luggage require expensive handling processes, hence the current policy.
However, in order to better attract sporting customers, the Air France-KLM group is preparing to change the rules governing the treatment of sports equipment.
In a few weeks, all sports equipment should be considered a classic checked baggage and will be exempted from surcharge.
On the number of free baggage according to booking class and weight, you will find details on the site
https://www.airfrance.us.
Be sure that we make every effort to make life easier for our clients and athletes I hope that you’ll pass on this information, as you suggest in your letter.
Please accept, Sir, the assurances of my highest consideration
I would like to thank first Xavier, captain on Air France flight, who help us relay the information to Air France management and of course all the people who took times to sign the online petition (and there was a lot, 1786 in total!).
Once again, thanks everyone!!!
