Crazyfly Shox (2010)

When CrazyFly set out to develop something new for its lineup, it decided to create the ultimate freeride board. In its stride to create a board that would offer a new way of riding, CrazyFly came up with the 2010 Shox. From a performance point of view, Shox has a lot to offer. The board comes with a wood core – wood is resistant, lightweight and flexible; thanks to the wood core the board has a lot of flex and pop. To make it easier to ride in choppy conditions, the board comes with a shock absorbing system which makes for a smoother ride. The board comes with a concave bottom and 3D ABS rails, meaning it offers smooth and easy carving.

Overall the 2010 Shox board offers great pop, smooth carving, good upwindi performance; it has an easy throw-around feel and it is plenty forgiving.

The Rocky Pro board has been in CrazyFly’s lineup for some time now, so chances are you are familiar with the board and with its performance. Compared to the Rocky Pro board, Shox doesn’t weigh as much, has more forgiving flex, and is more forgiving in the chop. If the Rocky Pro board is best suited to be ridden hard by the experienced rider, the Shox board is best suited for the intermediate level rider who wants to beef up his freestyle skills and push into more advanced freestyle disciplines.

From a durability point of view, the Rocky Pro and the Shox board have a lot in common. Both boards are incredibly durable as they are made from incredibly durable materials: carbon fiber composites (10 times stronger than steel), stainless steel inserts, leather straps, UV-resistant sheet, and so on.
