Eclipse Chameleon (2007)

 When we determined to design a SLE kite to dominate, we knew it had to be different. Dimitri not only needed the raw power to produce enough airtime to execute his legendary 40' board-off with style, but he also wanted a kite that provided adequate safety, control, and ease-of-use for a beginner to feel comfortable. We met this design challenge with our unique Switch System (SS) Bridle.

Just like its namesake, the CHAMELEON can adapt to its environment - and its rider's needs - simply by moving one of the knots on the SS Bridle. With the SS Bridle, the CHAMELEON can morph into an all-out freestyle kite (F), a wave kite (W), or a novice kite (N) in seconds.

We eliminated everything we hated about bows, kept all the features we loved, and mixed in a hint of C-kite for a familiar feel. Heavy bar pressure, inversions, and sloppy freestyle performance are plagues of the past. With the CHAMELEON, you will always know were the kite is. Bar System
Simplicity and function are foremost in bar design. With this in mind, we created the EZ Lock bar system because our customers deserve a bar that works with every kite we manufacture. Furthermore, it should provide a similar feel no matter what kite you launch.

The EZ Lock bar features a unique, proprietary power lock system which we developed exclusively with Clam Cleat. It is the simplest, safest, and most functional stopper system available. Nothing compares to this practical, easy-to-use system.

While hooked into the chicken loop, you merely hold the Clam Cleat where you want it and force the bar upwards against the Clam Cleat in order to lock it. If you want to unlock the Clam Cleat, all you have to do is pull on the loop strap. Under normal circumstances, the Clam Cleat locks tightly in place. But, if you are ever slammed into the water, the Clam Cleat will actually disengage automatically to de-power the kite. No more stopper ball nightmares.

No more stopper ball catastrophes and no more bars out of reach. The EZ Lock bar's depower movement is a mere 35 cm (14 in.)! Imagine - a kite bar which if safe and practical.

Build Quality
We needed a kite that would not only satisfy the demands of a pro rider but also survive the abuse of a new rider.
